My name is Iwona Wojciechowska and I am Polish.I am also many,many,
many more,as You,dear Reader,will soon learn.Some of my multiple faces
are interesting,some are dull,some are scary or depressing.But before
You judge for Yourself which are which and decide whether You could
like or dislike me (or,if You already know me whether to change Your
mind about the humble maker (?!) of this page),learn some facts from
my life and some important dates for me.

20.05.1974.Born in Lodz,Poland.
01.09.1981.The beginning of the twelve-year-period of hard work,
meaning the beginning of SCHOOL :(
13.12.1981.The introduction of the renowned
Marshal Law
and difficult times for my country.
28.01.1986.The space shuttle "Challenger" accident.Crew of seven dies.
01.09.1989.The beginning of the secondary school.
05.1993.Final exams at the secondary school.
06.1993.Accepted as a student of Physics at the University of Lodz.
30.09.1995.Left for the United Kingdom as an exchange student.
some time in 1996.Back from the UK.
13.08.1996.Diagnosed with OCD(Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder).
04.04.1997.Started a brand new relationship with Michal M.
Such a nice couple!
14.05.1998.Brought home a future friend -- Calka
the nicest mongrel in the whole wide world.
22.05.1999.The construction of this homepage.
Now I would like to present my multiple faces(not necessarily in the
order of importance):
A)OCD(Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder)is a psychiatric disorder,to be
precise,an anxiety disorder,which affects about 2% of population.
As it can be inferred from its name,a person suffering from it must
have either obsessions or compulsions;or both for that matter.
Obsessions are repetitive and persistent thoughts that are regarded
as intrusitive and senseless,but which can go for hours and hours and
prevent one from being able to concentrate on anything else.
Compulsions are repetitive behaviours performed in response to an
obsession(for example,excessive washing if You obsess of having
conctracted a disease;saying prayers to stop excessive blasphemous
or sexual thoughts).
I do not wish to write about my symptoms.I would just like to say
that despite the fact that the disorder has been interfering with
my life,ocassionally ruining it,I have learnt to be more tolerant and
open-minded.I have met many people --via Cyberspace--who suffer from
OCD and are great persons,and I hope we will stay friends for many,
many years to come.

Lately I have read a great book "The world according to Garp" by John
Irving,after many years of trying to get hold of it, and I LOVE IT!!!

I think I like almost every book of his that I read!!!!!These four

C)PHYSICS:
When I finish Panofsky,I will write more on this subject so special
to me.
D)Space Exploration,if what we strive to do can be called like that.
This subject is associated with the fact the ever since I was a
little girl I wanted to leave the Earth and visit various places in
the Universe,and try to understand its workings.Besides,I truly admire
men and women who work hard "for the benefit for the whole human kind"
and prepare or participate various projects whose object is to learn
more about our environs in SPACE.I bow my head in honour of all those
scientists of all kinds,(And astronaust as well,but that's a different
story!),who wish to expand our frontiers of knowledge...(I know
it sounds a bit pompous but that is what I think is very very
important).
E)Richard Feynman and
Francis Richard Scobee - I am going to prepare
a special page to commemorate those two men,a Physicist and an
astronaut - whose actions and ideas have had a huge influence upon
